Editing a Meeting Cadence #
Meeting cadences can be edited at any time by the owner of the meeting series. This includes changing recurring schedules, adding new cadences, creating one-time meetings, moving individual meetings, or canceling specific meeting occurrences.
Before You Begin #
Only the owner of the meeting series can edit meeting cadences.
If you do not have permission to edit the meeting series:
- You will not be able to open or edit the cadence settings.
- You will not see the Edit Meeting Series option in the meeting menu.
- You will need to contact the meeting owner to make changes on your behalf.
A quick way to verify your access is to click the three dots next to the meeting series. If you see Edit Meeting Series, you have permission to make changes.
Option 1: Edit from the Meetings Dashboard #
- Navigate to the Meetings module.
- Locate the meeting series you want to modify.
- Click on the Cadence column.
This opens the Edit Cadences window where you can:
- Edit an existing cadence.
- Add an additional recurring cadence.
- Create a one-time meeting.
To update an existing cadence:
- Select the cadence you want to modify.
- Make your changes.
- Click Update.
Option 2: Edit from Inside the Meeting #
You can also edit cadences directly from within a meeting.
- Open the meeting.
- Locate the meeting date beneath the meeting series name.
- Click Edit Cadences.
This opens the same cadence management window used from the Meetings dashboard.
Moving an Individual Meeting #
Sometimes a single meeting occurrence needs to be moved without changing the recurring schedule.
For example:
- Your team normally meets every Friday at 3:00 PM.
- This week’s meeting needs to occur on Thursday instead.
Simply select that individual meeting occurrence and move it to the desired date and time.
This change affects only that meeting occurrence and does not modify the recurring cadence.
Canceling an Individual Meeting #
You can also cancel a single meeting occurrence without impacting the rest of the meeting series.
This is useful for:
- Holidays
- Company events
- Schedule conflicts
- Team travel
Canceling a meeting occurrence removes only that specific meeting while keeping the meeting series and future cadences intact.
Best Practice #
Use meeting cadences to manage recurring schedules and use one-time meetings when additional discussions are needed.
Avoid creating duplicate meeting series for the same group of attendees. Keeping all meetings, initiatives, roadmap items, tasks, resources, and communication within a single meeting series provides a complete history of work and improves accountability across the team.
