Firm Settings & Platform Customization #

The Propel platform allows firms to customize several areas of the software to align with their branding, processes, and workflows.

All firm-level customization is managed through Firm Settings.

To access Firm Settings:

Settings → Firm Settings

Before You Begin #

In a previous setup step, you configured your personal user settings under the Account section.

This article focuses on the firm-level settings that affect all users across your organization.

Firm Admin Access Required #

Only users with Firm Admin permissions can access and modify Firm Settings.

You can verify your permissions by checking whether Admin appears beneath your name.

If you do not see the Firm Settings options discussed in this guide, you are likely not a Firm Admin.

If you believe you should have access:

  • Contact your Firm Administrator, or
  • Submit a support ticket through the Support Desk

Customizing Your Firm Platform #

The settings available within Firm Settings allow your organization to personalize the platform experience for both firm users and client companies.

These customizations can be completed immediately during setup or configured later as your firm grows.

However, there are several settings that are recommended during initial implementation because they impact the appearance and experience of the platform as additional team members are added.

Firm Branding & White Labeling #

One of the first areas most firms configure is their branding.

Within Firm Settings, you can:

  • Add your firm name
  • Upload your company logo
  • Configure platform branding
  • Create a more customized experience for users and clients

These settings allow the platform to reflect your firm’s identity throughout the software.

Logo Best Practices #

After uploading your logo:

  1. Preview the logo throughout the platform.
  2. Verify sizing and placement.
  3. Confirm that the logo appears clearly on both light and dark backgrounds.
  4. Test the experience from the perspective of both firm users and company users.

Making these adjustments early helps ensure a consistent and professional experience.

Health & Value Assessment Branding #

If your firm has access to the Health & Value Assessment module, your branding settings will also impact assessment reports generated through the platform.

After configuring your logos and firm information:

  • Generate a sample assessment.
  • Review the report branding.
  • Confirm logos, company information, and formatting appear as expected.

This ensures client-facing reports accurately represent your firm’s brand.

Additional Firm Customizations #

Firm Settings contains several additional configuration options that can be tailored to your firm’s needs.

Examples include:

  • Portfolio configuration
  • Company settings
  • Custom fields
  • User management
  • Reporting preferences
  • Workflow customization
  • Firm-wide defaults

Each customization area has its own dedicated tutorial within the Support Desk.

Recommended Initial Setup #

For new Firm Admins, we recommend completing the following setup steps before onboarding additional users:

✓ Configure firm branding and logos

✓ Verify firm name and company information

✓ Review Health & Value Assessment branding (if applicable)

✓ Explore available customization options

✓ Review the individual setup tutorials for each configurable area

Completing these foundational settings early helps create a consistent experience across your firm and client portfolio.
