Deleting A Task

Completing and Deleting Tasks #

Before deleting a task, it’s important to understand the difference between completing a task and deleting a task.

In most cases, completed work should be marked as complete rather than deleted.

Completing a Task #

When a task has been finished, simply mark it as Complete.

Completing a task removes it from your active task list and dashboard while preserving a record of the work that was completed.

Viewing Completed Tasks #

To view completed tasks:

  1. Navigate to the Task module.
  2. Use the filters at the top of the page.
  3. Change the status filter to Completed Tasks.

This allows you to review completed work at any time.

When to Delete a Task #

Deleting a task should be reserved for situations where:

  • The task was created by mistake.
  • Duplicate tasks were created.
  • The work is no longer required.
  • The task was entered incorrectly and will be recreated.

If the work was actually completed, it is recommended that you mark the task as complete instead of deleting it.

Deleting a Task #

To permanently delete a task:

  1. Locate the task you wish to remove.
  2. Click the three dots on the right-hand side of the task.
  3. Select Delete Task.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

The task will be permanently removed from the platform.

Important Note #

Deleted tasks cannot be recovered.

Unlike completed tasks, deleted tasks will not appear in filters or historical records.

For this reason, it is generally recommended to:

  • Complete tasks when the work has been finished.
  • Delete tasks only when they were created in error or are no longer needed.

Using completion whenever possible helps maintain an accurate history of work performed and accountability across the organization.
