Assigning Firm Users to Companies #

Firm users can be assigned to companies in two different ways within the platform. Both methods accomplish the same goal and allow advisors, consultants, or supervisors to access and work with specific companies.

Method 1: Assign from the Company #

1. Navigate to Firm Settings.
2. Select Companies.
3. Locate the company you want to assign a firm user to.
4. Click the three-dot menu on the right side of the company.
5. Select Manage Advisors.
6. Add the advisor, consultant, supervisor, or other firm user you want assigned to the company.
7. Save your changes.

The selected firm user will now have access to that company and it will appear in their portfolio.

Method 2: Assign from the Firm User Profile #

1. Navigate to Firm Settings.
2. Select Team.
3. Locate the firm user you want to assign.
4. Click the three-dot menu on the right side of their profile.
5. Select Assign Companies.
6. Choose the company or companies you want to assign to the user.
7. Save your changes.

The selected companies will now appear in that user’s portfolio.

Which Method Should You Use? #

Use Manage Advisors When: #

• You are working from the company list.
• Multiple advisors need to be assigned to the same company.
• You want to quickly review all advisors assigned to a specific client.

Use Assign Companies When: #

• You are working from a specific team member’s profile.
• You want to review all companies assigned to a particular advisor.
• You are onboarding a new advisor and assigning their client portfolio.

Both methods update the same assignment relationship, so changes made in one location are immediately reflected in the other.

Important Notes #

• Only users with appropriate firm permissions can manage company assignments.
• Advisors only see companies that have been assigned to them.
• Supervisors can view the portfolios of advisors assigned to their team.
• Firm Admins have visibility across all companies and assignments.
• Assigning a firm user to a company grants them access to work within that company instance and view the information available to their role.
