Removing a Firm User or Revoking Company Access #
Only Firm Admins have the ability to remove firm users or change their company assignments.
Removing a Firm User #
To remove a firm user from the platform:
- Navigate to Firm Settings.
- Select Team.
- Locate the user you wish to remove.
- Click the three-dot menu on the right side of their profile.
- Select Edit Firm User.
From here, you have two options:
Set the User to Inactive #
Changing a user’s status to Inactive removes their access to the platform while preserving their user record and historical activity.
This is the recommended option if the user may return in the future.
Delete the User #
If the user will not be returning and you no longer need to retain their profile, you can choose to Delete Firm User.
Deleting a user permanently removes their profile from the platform.
Removing a Firm User from a Company #
If you want a firm user to remain on the platform but no longer have access to a specific company:
- Navigate to Firm Settings.
- Select Team.
- Locate the user.
- Click the three-dot menu and select Edit Firm User.
- Review the user’s assigned companies.
- Locate the company you want to remove access from.
- Click Revoke next to that company.
The user will immediately lose access to that company while maintaining access to any other companies assigned to them.
Best Practices #
Set a User to Inactive When: #
- The employee is on leave.
- The employee may return in the future.
- You want to preserve user history and assignments.
Delete a User When: #
- The employee has permanently left the organization.
- The account will never be used again.
- Historical access is no longer needed.
Revoke Company Access When: #
- A team member no longer services a specific client.
- Responsibilities have shifted to another advisor.
- You want to limit visibility to only assigned companies.
Maintaining accurate user access helps ensure proper security, cleaner reporting, and clear ownership across your firm’s portfolio.
