Why You Can’t Edit Actuals on a Goal #
If you’re unable to manually update the actual values on a goal—even when you are the owner—there’s a clear reason inside Propel Your Business.
Root Cause #
Your goal is synced with QuickBooks.
When a goal is connected to QuickBooks:
- Actuals are automatically pulled
- Manual editing of actuals is disabled
How to Confirm #
You are likely experiencing this if:
- You see yourself listed as the owner
- You still cannot edit actuals
- The goal shows a QuickBooks connection
Why This Happens #
This is intentional behavior:
When QuickBooks is the source of truth, Propel prevents manual edits to avoid data inconsistencies.
Your Options #
Option 1: Resync Data (Recommended) #
- Click the three dots next to the goal
- Select Resync
- Pull the latest financial data from QuickBooks
Option 2: Disconnect from QuickBooks #
If you need manual control:
- Click the three dots
- Select Edit
- Choose Disconnect from QuickBooks
After disconnecting:
- You can manually enter actuals
- The goal will no longer auto-update
