Team Module Overview #

The Team Module in Propel allows business owners to organize their people, departments, and vendors in one centralized directory.

When opening the Team Module, users will see three primary tabs:

  • Members
  • Departments
  • Vendors

The module always opens on the Members tab by default.


Members #

The Members tab acts as an organizational directory for the business.

Here, users can:

  • Add team members
  • Assign departments
  • Assign job titles
  • Set start dates
  • Define reporting structure
  • Upload profile photos

Users can either upload photos manually or allow team members to upload their own once they log into the platform.

Important Distinction #

Adding someone to the Team Module does not activate them in the software.

The Team Module is designed for:

  • organizational charts
  • accountability structures
  • internal directories

User activation, permissions, and software access are managed separately under:

  • Company Settings → Users

Adding Team Members #

To add a team member:

  1. Navigate to the Team Module
  2. Click Add Team Member
  3. Enter the employee’s information
  4. Assign department and reporting structure
  5. Save the profile

Filters & Search #

The Members dashboard includes filtering tools to quickly locate:

  • specific employees
  • departments
  • reporting relationships

Import & Export Functionality #

The Team Module also supports import/export functionality.

Users can:

  • export team data to Excel or Google Sheets
  • bulk import employees into the platform
  • quickly upload large organizational directories

Departments #

The Departments tab allows organizations to structure teams by function.

Departments are fully customizable.

Examples:

  • Sales
  • Operations
  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Leadership
  • Client Success

Creating Departments #

To create a department:

  1. Go to the Departments tab
  2. Click Add Department
  3. Name the department
  4. Assign a manager

Once departments are created, team members can be assigned accordingly.


Department Management #

The Departments dashboard provides visibility into:

  • department names
  • department managers
  • associated team members

Import/export functionality is also available for departments.


Vendors #

The Vendors tab helps organizations organize external vendors and business partners.

This creates a centralized vendor directory inside Propel.


Vendor Information #

Vendor records may include:

  • Vendor name
  • Main contact
  • Contact information
  • Internal owner/contact person
  • Start date
  • Website links
  • Scheduling links
  • Notes and descriptions

This helps organizations maintain visibility into important vendor relationships.


Adding Vendors #

To add a vendor:

  1. Navigate to the Vendors tab
  2. Click Add Vendor
  3. Enter vendor details
  4. Save the record
