Setting User Profiles & Permissions #

User profiles and permissions are managed in Company Settings inside Propel Your Business.

Important Distinction #

There are two different areas that often get confused:

Team Module #

  • Used for:
    • Org chart
    • Job titles
    • Departments
  • Does NOT grant access to the software

Company Settings → Users #

  • Used for:
    • Inviting users
    • Activating accounts
    • Setting permissions

If someone is in “Team,” they are not necessarily a user in the system.

How to Access User Settings #

  1. Click Company Settings
  2. Select the Users tab
  3. From here, you can:
    • Add users
    • Edit users
    • Manage permissions

User Roles #

There are two primary roles:

Company Admin #

  • Full access across the entire company
  • Can:
    • See everything
    • Add/edit users
    • Manage permissions
  • Best for:
    • Owner
    • CFO / COO
    • System administrators

Company User #

  • Limited access based on permissions
  • Visibility is controlled individually

Setting Permissions for a User #

  1. Click Edit User
  2. Configure the three permission toggles:

1. Access to Company Goals #

  • Allows visibility into the company scorecard

2. Access to Health & Value #

  • Allows visibility into:
    • Business health score
    • Enterprise value (EV)

3. Ability to Create Internal Meetings #

  • Allows the user to:
    • Create and manage their own meetings
  • Best for:
    • Managers
    • Team leads

Recommended Setup #

Use this structure:

  • Admins (very limited)
    • Owner
    • Executive leadership
  • Company Users (most people)
    • Customize access based on role
