How to Set Up and Manage Departments #
Propel allows you to organize your team into departments, assign managers, and easily manage team members by department.
Where to Find Departments #
- Navigate to the Company navigation bar (Sage) on the left-hand side.
- Click Team.
- Select the Departments tab.
Creating Departments #
From the Departments tab, you can:
- Add new departments
- Assign a department manager during setup
Each department will display:
- Department name
- Assigned manager
- Number of members in the department
Assigning Team Members to Departments #
There are two ways to manage department membership.
Option 1: Assign via Members #
- Go to the Members tab within the Team module.
- Edit an individual team member.
- Assign them to a department.
Option 2: Manage via Departments #
- Stay within the Departments tab.
- Select a department.
- Add, remove, or manage members directly from the department view.
Department Dashboard View #
The Department dashboard provides a high-level view of:
- All departments in the organization
- The manager for each department
- The total number of members per department
You can also:
- Search by department name
- Filter by manager
