Launching A Demo Company Instance

Launching a Demo Company #

The Demo Company feature allows firm users to launch a temporary company instance to demonstrate how Propel Your Business works for a prospect or existing client. Demo companies are created from pre-built demo templates and are designed to reset automatically after use.

Purpose of a Demo Company #

Demo companies allow you to:

  • Show how the platform is intended to be used within an organization
  • Walk prospects or clients through meetings, dashboards, and workflows
  • Demonstrate functionality without affecting real client data

Each demo company is temporary and based on a template your firm controls.

Access Requirements #

To launch a demo company, you must:

  • Be a Firm Admin or Firm User
  • See the navy navigation bar on the left-hand side

If you do not see the navy navigation bar, you do not have access to demo companies.

Navigating to Demo Companies #

  1. From the navy navigation bar, click Portfolio
  2. Select Demo

This view shows all demo companies launched in the last 72 hours.

Demo Company Expiration #

  • Demo companies remain available for 72 hours
  • After 72 hours, they automatically disappear
  • Any changes made during the demo are discarded
  • The demo always reverts back to the original template

This ensures every demo starts from a clean, consistent state.

Launching a New Demo Company #

  1. From Portfolio → Demo, click Launch
  2. Enter a name
    • This is often the name of the prospect or client
  3. Select the demo template you want to use
  4. Click Launch Demo Company

The system will begin creating a full company instance based on the selected template.

Launch Timing and Best Practice #

  • Launching a demo company takes several minutes
  • The platform is creating an entire company instance
  • It is recommended to launch the demo before your meeting with the prospect or client

You can close the launch window and continue working while it populates.

Confirming the Demo Is Ready #

A demo company is fully populated when:

  • A health score appears on the demo tile
  • A next advisory meeting is visible
  • The dashboard shows health and value information

If these are not visible yet, the demo is still populating.

You may:

  • Refresh the page periodically
  • Wait for the notification in the top-right corner indicating completion

Using the Demo Company #

Once ready:

  1. Click into the demo company
  2. Select Dashboard
  3. Navigate freely through the platform

During the demo, you can:

  • Click into meetings
  • Add or edit content
  • Demonstrate workflows
  • Show dashboards and modules

All changes are saved only within the demo instance.

Demo Data Retention #

  • Changes made during the demo persist for 72 hours
  • After expiration, the demo is deleted
  • The original demo template remains unchanged

This ensures each new demo starts fresh, without leftover data from previous demonstrations.

Key Notes #

  • Demo companies are temporary and non-persistent
  • Templates are never altered by demo usage
  • Each launch creates a new company instance
  • Ideal for sales, onboarding previews, and walkthroughs
