Activating a Team Member in Propel Your Business #

If a team member tells you they haven’t received their activation email, or they appear as not activated, here are the steps to check and resolve the issue.


1. Understand the Difference: Team vs. Company Settings #

  • The Team section (left navigation bar) is an org chart tool.
    • Use it to assign people into departments with department leaders.
    • Adding someone here does not activate their account.
  • To activate an account and send an email invitation, you must go to Company Settings.
    • Only Company Admins can do this.

2. Check User Status #

  1. Go to Company Settings in the bottom left-hand navigation.
  2. Select Users.
  3. You’ll see:
    • All team members listed.
    • Their role (Company Admin or Company User).
    • Their status (Active or Inactive).

3. Activate the User #

  1. Find the inactive team member.
  2. Click the three dots on the right → Edit.
  3. Change status to Active.
  4. Click Edit User to save.

Once saved:

  • The system immediately sends an email invitation to the address on file.
  • The email includes a link to set up their password.

4. Activation Link Details #

  • The invitation link is valid for 1 hour.
  • If the user misses the window, send them the Getting Started support link, which contains instructions to regenerate or reset their activation.
