Understanding the Announcements (What’s New) Page #

The Announcements page is designed to keep firm admins, firm users, and company users informed about product updates and changes within Propel.

This article explains how the What’s New section works and how announcements are targeted to the right audiences.

Where to Find Announcements #

Announcements live under Notifications in a section called What’s New.

This area displays:

  • Product updates
  • Feature releases
  • Platform changes communicated by Propel

How Announcements Are Managed #

Announcements are controlled from Propel’s backend.

When a new announcement is created, the following elements are defined:

  • Title of the announcement
  • Link to supporting content (such as release notes or documentation)
  • Audience (Firm or Companies)
  • User roles that should receive the update

This structure allows Propel to deliver the right message to the right users.

Audience Targeting and Segmentation #

Announcements can be segmented based on:

  • Firm vs. Company users
  • Specific user roles

For example:

  • Firm-specific updates are sent only to firm users
  • Company-related updates can be sent to all company users
  • Feature announcements can be limited to users who actually have access to that feature

This prevents unnecessary noise and ensures updates are relevant to the viewer.

Why This Matters #

The Announcements page ensures:

  • Firm admins and users stay informed about platform changes
  • Updates are role-appropriate and targeted
  • Users are not overwhelmed with irrelevant notifications
