Requesting Access to a Company #
If a company should be associated with your firm’s portfolio but is not currently visible, Firm Admins can request access to that company directly through the platform.
Before You Begin #
Only Firm Admins have permission to request access to companies.
The company must already exist in Propel and have an active Company Admin or primary contact who can approve the request.
Requesting Access to a Company #
- Navigate to Firm Settings.
- Select Companies.
- Click the Requests tab.
- Select Send Request.
Enter the email address of the company’s primary contact or Company Admin and submit the request.
Once submitted, the company will receive a notification asking them to approve your firm’s access request.
What Happens Next? #
The company must approve the request before it can be associated with your firm’s portfolio.
After approval:
- The company will appear in your portfolio.
- Firm users can be assigned to the company.
- Advisors and supervisors can begin working within the company instance based on their assigned permissions.
- Portfolio reporting and visibility will become available according to your firm’s access settings.
Best Practices #
Notify the Company Admin #
After sending the request, contact the company owner or Company Admin directly and let them know the request has been submitted. This helps prevent delays and ensures they know to look for the notification.
Verify the Email Address #
Requests are sent to the email address provided. If the wrong email address is entered, the request may not reach the correct person.
Monitor Outstanding Requests #
The Requests tab provides visibility into pending company access requests so you can track which companies have not yet responded.
Troubleshooting #
The Company Does Not Appear After Sending the Request #
The company must approve the request before it is added to your portfolio.
The Company Never Received the Request #
Confirm that the email address belongs to the correct Company Admin or primary contact and resend the request if necessary.
I Don’t See the Requests Tab #
The Requests tab is only available to Firm Admins. If you believe you should have access, contact your Firm Administrator or submit a support ticket.
Once approved, the company will automatically appear within your firm’s portfolio and can be managed like any other company associated with your platform.
