Goal and Scorecard Templates

Creating Goal Templates and Roll-Up Scorecards #

Goal Templates allow you to quickly create the same goal for multiple individuals and roll their results together for visibility across a team, department, or area of the business.

This is especially helpful when multiple team members are responsible for the same metrics and leadership wants to monitor both individual performance and combined results.

Goals are the foundation of Scorecards, so begin by creating your Goal Templates before building the Scorecard.

Create a Goal Template #

To create a Goal Template:

  1. Navigate to Goals.
  2. Select Add Goal Template.
  3. Enter a name for the goal.
  4. Select the team members who should be assigned the goal.
  5. Add any appropriate Editors or Viewers.
  6. Complete the goal setup and save the template.

Propel will create the goal for each selected individual while maintaining a rolled-up view of the overall metric.

View Rolled-Up Goals #

Goals created from a template can be expanded to display the individual goals associated with the roll-up.

From the rolled-up view, you can see each person’s:

  • Plan
  • Actual results
  • Contribution to the overall metric

The individual results then roll up into the total for the Goal Template.

You can expand the entire roll-up or open an individual goal to review and make adjustments to that specific person’s goal.

Create Calculated Goal Templates #

You can also create Calculated Goal Templates when the metric is based on a calculation between other goals.

For example, you may want to track the conversion rate between scheduled calls and completed calls.

When creating a Calculated Goal Template:

  1. Define the calculation using the appropriate individual goals.
  2. Select the individuals who should be assigned the calculated metric.
  3. Save the template.

The calculated metric will then appear with your other goals and can be used as part of your Scorecards.

Add Goals to a Scorecard #

Once your Goal Templates are created, you can combine the metrics into a Scorecard.

Select the goals you want to include and click Add to Scorecard.

You can then:

  • Add the goals to an existing Scorecard.
  • Create and name a new Scorecard.

This allows you to create a single Scorecard containing the key metrics you want to monitor across the team.

View Roll-Ups on a Scorecard #

When a Goal Template is added to a Scorecard, the Scorecard displays the rolled-up results for that metric.

Expand the goal to see the individual team members participating in the roll-up and their results.

This gives you two levels of visibility:

Team-Level View — See the combined result across everyone assigned to the Goal Template.

Individual View — Expand the metric to see each person’s individual results.

This allows leadership to monitor overall team performance while still having access to the individual results driving the total.

Manage Goal Templates #

From the Scorecards page, you can access the Goal Templates currently in use.

Here, you can manage the templates and the individuals assigned to them, including removing individuals when they should no longer be part of a particular template.

Goal Templates and rolled-up Scorecards provide an efficient way to standardize metrics across multiple team members while giving leadership visibility into both individual and overall performance.
