Adding Users to Your Company #
There are two places to add people inside Propel Your Business, but they serve very different purposes.
The Two Ways to Add People #
1. Team Module (Org Chart Only) #
Use this when you want to:
- Build your org chart
- Track:
- Roles
- Departments
- Reporting structure
- Photos
How to Add a Team Member #
- Go to Team module
- Click Add Team Member
- Enter details:
- Name
- Role
- Department
- Manager
- Save
👉 Important:
This does NOT give them access to the software.
2. Company Settings → Users (Actual System Access) #
This is where you:
- Add users to the platform
- Assign roles
- Set permissions
- Send login invites
How to Add a User (System Access) #
- Go to Company Settings
- Click Users tab
- Click Add User
- Enter:
- Name
- Role (Admin or User)
- Set Status
User Roles Explained #
Company Admin #
- Full access to everything
- Can:
- View all data
- Manage users
- Control settings
⚠️ Use sparingly (Owner, CFO, COO)
Company User #
- Limited access based on permissions
- Most users should be in this category
Activating a User #
When adding a user:
- Set Status = Active
- Sends an email invite immediately
- User sets password and gains access
- Set Status = Inactive
- Saves the user without sending an invite
- Activate later when ready
Important Behavior #
- Adding a user in Company Settings:
- ✅ Gives them system access
- ✅ Automatically adds them to the Team module
- Adding in Team module only:
- ❌ Does NOT give system access
